You can read about the campaigns we are currently running below. If you’ve got a campaign that you think we should be involved in, please let us know.
MAKE CHILD POVERTY HISTORY
ELS are delighted to have signed up to the campaign to Make Child Poverty History, which is being run by the Child Poverty Action Group.
Tony Blair pledged to end child poverty by 2020 in his 1999 Beveridge Lecture and the Labour government has made substantial progress since then, but we believe that it is unacceptable that in modern Britain nearly 3.5m children live in poverty.

THE IRAQ APPEAL
After the visit of Harry Barnes, we feel strongly that the Labour movement, together with our trade union colleagues, should support the fledging Iraqi democracy and its emerging trade unions.
There are several ways you can aid the Iraqi democrats. You can learn more about the TUC’s Iraq Appeal here. We would strong recommend buying a copy of the TUC’s book, Haidi Never Died: Haidi Saleh and the Iraqi Trade Unions or you can log onto Labour Friends of Iraq for more information.
