Fighting the good fight

Being a history student, I have a soft spot for the Beeb’s ‘On This Day’ feature. By chance, tonight I discovered that we left the ERM exactly 14 years ago.
Who was assisting Norman Lamont on his ‘difficult day’? This clever chap, of course. And his smirking sidekick has the nerve to bemoan Gordon’s economic record.
